Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle is the finest work of Rossini’s late years. This is a heart-warming and celebratory work, full of Rossinian quirks and bursting with humor, charm, and sincerity. Together with the “Stabat mater”, the Messe is one of the composer’s most important sacred works.
